Clinical and Forensic Psychiatrist

Areas of Expertise   Dr. Bellard works in clinical and forensic psychiatry.  Within his forensic practice he performs civil and criminal evaluations.  Criminal work includes evaluations of defendants' competency to stand trial, mental status at the time of the crime and criminal responsibility.

In the civil area he provides evaluations in cases of psychological damages, evaluates medical malpractice claims and performs Independent Medical Evaluations.

In his clinical practice Dr. Bellard provides evaluation and treatment of adults with a wide variety of psychiatric conditions, utilizing phamacotherpy, behavioral therapies and individual psychotherapy.

Dr. Bellard has over 27 years of experience in both Clinical and Forensic Psychiatry and maintains board certifications in General Psychiatry as well as Forensic Psychiatry.

He has been involved in over 700 Forensic Psychiatry cases and has testified well over 100 times in criminal and civil cases in State and Federal courts in:
